If you want freebies, use Audicity as the software to handle recording, you can also spit the recordings accordingly, however, you still need a encoder to encode it to MP3, search for lamemp3.exe and there should be no problem.
I happened to listen to the old songs of "Radias" over the last few days, especially the songs from their first EP (especially like 杯中冷巷), I found I like Raidas' signature sound (vs Tat Ming). However, signature sound will become boring quite easily, something like Modern Talking (Cherry Cherry Lady-Brother Louie-Atlantic is Calling).
I read 黃霑's博士論文, he analyzed the downturn of the quality of the Cantonese music industry, he pointed some reasons, including: Karaoke and CR2's policy of not playing cover versions, which on one hand encouraged song writers but also ruled out quality music from overseas.
Off topic question: what tapes do you use when you "were" young? I myself used mainly:
TDK's SA, SA-X, later MA, MA-X + others Sony's UX, UX Pro and a few metal tapes A few from "That's", which I quite like!

先要有一條插入電腦line in的線，將walkman駁入，然後安裝錄音軟件，我用的是Creative Media，朋友借給我的，好像沒有免費下載，然後邊play邊錄，並不困難。
