劉美君 - 笑說 (1989)

主打歌 : 異鄉邂逅, 有人, 愛是無涯, 你說是甜我說苦. 劉美君89年懷孕，夏天在美國誕下一女，產後回港推出《笑說》大碟，豁然開朗, 碟內歌唱部份在美國錄音。當年八卦新聞，說她極力挽救瀕臨破裂的婚姻，跟很多夫婦一樣，她和丈夫以生孩子去箍煲，當輕舟已過萬重山，《笑說》記錄了一次感情的暗湧。據說，《愛是無涯》是唱給黃泰來聽的。(可是，他們在94年離婚，一子一女跟她。) 《笑說》碟內改編了2首Jazz-Pop, 一首"慢鏡", 一首"你說是甜我說苦"。爵士樂，和劉美君的女兒一樣，生於美國，Jazz被稱為美國的古典音樂...
AMG : Jazz has been called America's classical music. Along with the blues, its forefather, it is one of the first truly indigenous musics to develop in America. At the outset, jazz was dance music, performed by swinging big bands. As the genre evolved, the music split into a number of different styles, from the speedy, hard-hitting rhythms of be-bop and the laid-back, mellow harmonies of cool jazz to the jittery, atonal forays of free jazz and the earthy grooves of soul jazz.

現代唱片86年左右成立, 是一間本地唱片label, 第一位歌手是劉美君, 89年外國唱片公司BMG入股, 唱片盒帶多了個BMG標誌. 89年劉美君歌迷會成立, 叫做"劉美君歌迷自治聯會", 是受北京學運影響, 當時很多學生組織就叫"自治聯會".
